This version takes effect on September 7, 2026. Until that date, the current version applies.
Terms of Service
Effective date: September 7, 2026
1. Publisher and acceptance
These Terms govern the use of Bristol, published by Quentin Arragon, sole proprietor (EI), 39 avenue Verdier, 92120 Montrouge, France (SIRET 847 907 698 00041), referred to below as “the Publisher”. Using the Bristol desktop application or website constitutes acceptance of these Terms; your acceptance is recorded in your account the first time you sign in, and again whenever these Terms are updated. Full publisher and hosting information is available on the Legal Notice page.
2. Service
Bristol consists of:
- a desktop application for 3D exhibition planning (macOS and Windows);
- the bristol3d.app website: download, documentation, account, and a dashboard to manage workspaces, subscriptions, seats and 3D assets.
The user is responsible for maintaining backups of their .bristol
documents.
The service evolves over time: features may be added, changed or removed for legitimate reasons, such as technical or security requirements, legal compliance, or product development. Changes that materially reduce the service are announced with reasonable advance notice. Features identified as beta or experimental are provided for evaluation only: they may be modified or withdrawn at any time and carry no availability commitment.
3. Plans
Bristol offers two plans:
- Free. Limited to 5 artworks per file. Files containing more than 5 artworks cannot be opened.
- Pro. No artwork limit. Billed per seat, monthly or annually.
Current prices are shown on the Pricing page. There is no free trial. A user benefits from the Pro plan when an active seat is assigned to them in a workspace with an active subscription.
4. Promotional offers
The Publisher may propose promotional offers or discount codes. Each offer is governed by its own conditions: eligibility, duration, number of places, combination with other offers. The Publisher may modify or withdraw an offer for the future. Periods already paid are not affected.
5. Workspaces, seats and roles
- Subscriptions are taken by a workspace, never by an individual user. The workspace owns the seats it pays for.
- Seats can be assigned to, removed from, or transferred between workspace members at any time. Charges depend only on the number of seats owned by the workspace (section 6), not on how they are assigned.
- Roles (Owner, Admin, Member) are independent from seats. Each workspace has exactly one Owner.
- Workspace ownership can be transferred to another workspace member on request to the Publisher (section 20). The subscription and the seats remain attached to the workspace. The payment method of the previous owner stays in place until the new owner replaces it.
6. Billing and payment
Purchases are processed by Paddle, acting as merchant of record: Paddle is the seller of the transaction, collects applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) and sends invoices and receipts by email. Paddle’s Checkout Buyer Terms apply in addition to these Terms. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Paddle’s Checkout Buyer Terms on matters of payment, invoicing, taxes or refunds, Paddle’s Checkout Buyer Terms prevail.
- Billing is in euros (EUR).
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or annual, until cancelled.
- The subscription amount equals the number of seats owned by the workspace multiplied by the per-seat price of the billing period.
- Adding seats during a period is charged immediately, on a prorated basis for the remainder of the period.
- Reducing the number of seats takes effect at the next renewal. The current period is not refunded.
- Switching from monthly to annual billing is available and takes effect immediately; the unused portion of the monthly period is credited. Switching from annual to monthly billing is not offered.
- The Publisher may change prices for the future. Price changes are announced with reasonable advance notice and take effect at the next renewal; a workspace that does not wish to continue at the new price may cancel before the renewal. Periods already paid are not affected.
- Workspace members authorised to manage billing can incur charges on the workspace’s payment method.
Automatic renewal (consumers)
If you subscribe as a consumer:
- you may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (section 7);
- where required by applicable law, Paddle sends a renewal reminder by email ahead of the renewal date, in accordance with its Checkout Buyer Terms;
- if you reside in France, articles L215-1 to L215-3 of the French Consumer Code apply and are reproduced in the French consumer annex at the end of these Terms.
7. Cancellation, payment failures and expiration
- Cancellation. Seats remain active until the end of the period already paid. All workspace members then revert to the Free plan. There is no prorated refund.
- Payment failure. Access normally continues during a retry window. If payment is not resolved, the subscription is cancelled and all workspace members revert to the Free plan.
- After expiration. Workspace data (members, settings, assets) is retained for as long as the workspace exists; the Publisher does not commit to any minimum retention period. Seat assignments are erased. On re-subscription, previous seat assignments are not restored.
8. Refunds and right of withdrawal
Payments are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law. For consumers in the European Union: when you subscribe, you expressly request immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal is lost once performance begins, as recorded when you subscribe. Consumers residing in France: see also the French consumer annex at the end of these Terms. Refunds required by law and payment disputes are handled through Paddle.
Businesses charged VAT, GST or similar taxes may be entitled to a refund of that tax through Paddle, in accordance with Paddle’s Checkout Buyer Terms.
9. Account
To create and use a Bristol account, the user must:
- provide a valid email address;
- be at least 15 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract under the law of their country of residence;
- keep account credentials confidential and remain responsible for all activity taking place under the account.
Accounts can be deleted at any time from the account settings in the dashboard; deletion can also be requested by email at contact@bristol3d.app. An account that owns a workspace cannot be deleted; the workspace must first be transferred (section 5) or deleted.
10. Single-device rule
A Bristol account may be signed in on one device at a time. Signing in on a new device ends the previous session. The related data processing is described in the Privacy Policy.
11. User content
Artworks, projects and other content created or imported by the user (“User
Content”) remain the user’s property. .bristol documents are stored locally
on the user’s device by default and are not transmitted to the Publisher
unless the user explicitly chooses to share them through the Bristol Viewer
(section 12). The user is responsible for User Content, including any
third-party rights attached to it.
Workspace members may upload 3D models and related files to their workspace library. These files are hosted by the Publisher and accessible to the members of that workspace. The user grants the Publisher a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store and serve these files for the sole purpose of operating the service. Library files are deleted when the workspace is deleted.
12. Document sharing
Users benefiting from the Pro plan (section 3) may publish a .bristol
document through the Bristol Viewer at
view.bristol3d.app. Publishing shares a copy of
the document as it exists at that moment; the user may later update the
shared copy, at the same URL, which also requires the Pro plan. By publishing
a document, the user:
- grants the Publisher a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store and serve the document for the sole purpose of operating the Bristol Viewer, for the duration the document remains shared;
- acknowledges that the resulting URL is public and accessible without authentication to anyone who has it;
- is solely responsible for the legality of the content published, including third-party intellectual property and personal data of identifiable persons;
- may revoke the share at any time from the desktop application or the dashboard, which deletes the uploaded file. Revocation remains available even after the user’s plan ends.
A shared document remains accessible until it is revoked. Existing shares are not removed when the user’s plan ends; they are deleted when the user’s account is deleted. The Publisher may remove a shared document on its own initiative, in particular in case of breach of these Terms or receipt of a substantiated complaint. The Publisher provides no availability or durability guarantee for shared documents.
Users acting in the course of a business agree to compensate the Publisher for damages finally awarded against it, and reasonable defence costs, arising from a third-party claim caused by content they published through the Viewer or uploaded to a workspace library (section 11) in breach of these Terms. This obligation does not apply to consumers.
13. Acceptable use
The user agrees not to:
- use Bristol for any unlawful purpose;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or interfere with the application beyond what applicable law authorises;
- circumvent the single-device rule, plan limits or the seat system, share an account, or resell access;
- disrupt the service for other users or the underlying infrastructure.
14. Intellectual property
The Bristol application, website, name and logo are the property of the Publisher. The user is granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the desktop application in accordance with these Terms. The features available under this licence depend on the user’s plan (section 3).
15. Warranty and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law:
- Bristol is provided “as is”. The Publisher does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the application, the website, the Viewer or the workspace library;
- the Publisher is not liable for indirect damages, including loss of data stored locally (section 2);
- for users acting in the course of a business, the Publisher’s total liability is capped at the amounts paid for Bristol by or for the user during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or 50 euros if no such amounts were paid.
For consumers, the warranty and liability rights provided by applicable law apply in full: the cap above does not apply to them. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under French law (including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct), nor the mandatory rights of consumers.
16. Termination
- The user may stop using Bristol at any time and request account deletion (section 9).
- A workspace can be deleted by its Owner. Deletion is irreversible, cancels the subscription and does not give rise to any refund for the current period.
- The Publisher may suspend or terminate an account in case of material breach of these Terms, after a written notice to remedy, sent by email, has remained without effect for 15 days. In case of fraud (including unjustified chargebacks), unlawful content, or serious misconduct making the continuation of the service impossible, suspension or termination may take effect immediately.
17. Changes
These Terms may be updated. Material changes are notified by email or in the application with reasonable advance notice. During the notice period, the user may close the account (section 9). After the effective date, continued use of Bristol constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law. Consumers residing in the European Union may bring proceedings before the courts of their place of domicile or the competent French courts.
19. Miscellaneous
- The Publisher may assign these Terms to an entity continuing the Bristol business. The user’s rights are not reduced by the assignment.
- If a provision of these Terms is held invalid, the other provisions remain in force.
- Neither party is liable for a failure caused by an event of force majeure as defined by French law.

A.2 Reconduction tacite
A.4 Réclamations
Toute réclamation peut être adressée à contact@bristol3d.app.
